The extensive 38 acres of gardens and landscape at Arundel Castle are world renowned and provide visitors with beautiful floral displays throughout the spring, summer and autumn months, with wonderful specimen trees within the landscape and an immense variety of plants throughout the gardens.

The gardens provide one of the most stunning Spring displays in the country including Arundel Castle’s famous Tulip Festival. The garden team have planted over 1.4 million bulbs over the past 12 years, includes narcissus, tulips, alliums and camassias.

As Martin Duncan, Head Gardener says, “Our castle garden team are proud to be a part of history, as well as creating history within these beautiful gardens & landscape". Martin’s personal achievement was recognised in 2018 with the award of the Kew Guild Medal, and the team have won numerous awards for the gardens  including:

  • 2025 Historic Houses Garden of the Year Award

  • Champion of Champions 2025, from South & South East In Bloom

  • Gold & Category Winner for Walled Garden of the Year 2025 from South & South East In Bloom

  • Gold & Category Winner for the Small Conservation Area of the Year 2025 from South & South East In Bloom

  • Historic Park & Garden of the Year 2024

  • Horticultural Achievement Award 2024,  from South & South East In Bloom

  • Gold Winner for Small Conservation Area of the Year 2024 for the water gardens from South & South East In Bloom

  • Gold for the Walled Gardens from South & South East In Bloom
